Terrorist Recruitment

One of the most important avenues in preventing both international and domestic terrorism resides in understanding the pathways to recruitment. Terrorist groups have become very skilled at manipulating persons with a tendency toward extremism to participate willingly in violence as a means to an end. In addition, these groups have begun to use social media to aid in their goals. As a forensic psychology professional, this is where you demonstrate your insights regarding individuals who are radicalized and/or recruited to promote extremist ideologies.

In this Discussion, you will review current strategies that terrorist groups use to recruit new members and analyze how a forensic psychology professional might aid in preventing such recruitment. Your research will also include information on the evolution of recruitment with the introduction and saturation of technology in everyday life.
