CSU Race Factor in University Admissions Harvard & Racial Diversity Discussion

CSU Race Factor in University Admissions Harvard & Racial Diversity Discussion

Question Description

Hello, To finish out our discussion boards for this semester, I thought I would bring in a case that is headed to the Supreme Court. This case involves the use of race as a factor in college admissions. Below are 2 links for short NPR articles Please read both in the order I’ve linked them. The 1st article gives more background on the case and the second article discusses why the appeals court affirmed the lower court’s decision. Then give me your thoughts on whether you believe the federal district court and federal appeals court made the right decision in finding that Harvard does not intentionally discriminate against Asian-Americans in its admissions process. Please keep your responses short and comment on two of your peers’ posts. Since this is a hotly contested topic that many of you likely have differing opinions about, please remember to be considerate of your peers in your responses and comments. Take care and I look forward to reading your responses.
