George Washington University Climate Change Synthesis Paper

Purpose:

To synthesize the information you have learned in the Sustainable Development lesson with relation to the lesson objectives.

Length:
Two pages, single-spaced (1,000 words +/1 100 words). Bibliography not counted in min-max pages.

Instructions:
Using what you have learned from the required and optional material in Lesson 3: Sustainable Development, answer the three questions listed below. You must use specific examples and references from the course material, but you must write everything in your own words. You must cite in any style the lectures, reading material, or any other content in the lesson that you discuss in your paper. You must reference specific material to get full credit for this course. Your paper is limited to 1,000 words, so you must be concise and efficient in your writing while also striving to present as much relevant information as possible. • Defining sustainable development: What is the currently accepted definition of sustainable development? What is the history of the term (where did it come from)?
• Sustainable development in action: What are some examples how sustainable development is being implemented? How can the concept of sustainable development guide policy decisions for developing countries?
• Sustainable development and climate change: What areas of sustainable development relate to climate change? Explain how increased development improves a countries resilience (ability to adapt or recover) to climate change? What ways can a country archive development outcomes without using more fossil fuels that contribute to global warming?
