1. I agree with the news release that nurses are the most trusted profession. I agree because nurses have many ethical standards that they have to follow while caring for patients. These include- autonomy, non-maleficence, beneficence, justice, veracity, and confidentiality. If nurses do not follow the ethical standards, they could possibly lose their license.
2. I believe that it is important for nurses to hold the title of most trusted profession because if our patients do not trust us, they would be more hesitant to be cared for by us. People would be less likely to go to the hospital or to the doctors, in fear that they would not be cared for correctly.
3. To carry on the legacy of being the most trusted profession I will follow the code of ethics. I will also always practice patient advocacy, meaning I will always promote and advocate for my patient’s health and safety, and will always respect my patient’s rights.
