I’m trying to learn for my Anatomy class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

Instructions

  1. Your post must be highly organized, thorough and accurate.
  2. Advance the discussion or extend discussions already taking place.
  3. Responses must add new information not previously discussed. Pose new possibilities or opinions not previously voiced. Consider new factual information tied with critical thinking. Interesting and current research on the topic.
  4. Do not simply summarize another student’s post and agree/disagree. Consider starting out posts with, “A research article I found said, Did you know, 3 things I found interesting were…”

Research

The scientific method is easily put as making hypothesis and then conducting experiments based on the hypothesis. The book however break down the Scientific Method into five distinct steps being: 1) the inductive method, where you make an abundant amount of observations to the point where you feel comfortable making assumptions based on the observations, 2) the hypothetico-deductive method, the process of creating a good hypothesis that is capable of being tested and compatible with what is already deduced, 3) experimental design, testing the hypothesis through many different variables, 4) peer review, an unbiased opinion and a fresh set of eyes, and 5) facts, laws and theories, the process of cross checking the results with these three factors and being able to determine its relativity (Saladin et al., 2020).

Critical Thinking

For example, I want to see which of the two streets – 56th or 72nd – provides the quickest route to my job. I start in the inductive method by observing the streets on different days both at the time that I would go to work. After gaining abundant observations of the two streets I make a hypothesis that 56th Street with be a quicker route because although there is more car flow, it is closer to my job that 72nd Street. Now I move on to the experimental design where I decide to time my drives everyday for a week on each road. I would most likely do this for two weeks so that I may get the most amount of data. Once I have all my data documented I would give my findings to an unbiased peer so that they could evaluate everything and give their opinion. A set a unbiased eyes could really help you see the results differently because if you really want a specific outcome you could unintentionally skew the results. Lastly, I would compare my findings to the facts, laws and theories meaning that I would evaluate the facts of the times and then evaluate how the laws of nature affected it such as rain or an accident and then check all of that with my original theory.
