University of South Florida Creative Response Female Experience Discussion

PROMPT: Use one or more of the following course texts to address the below mentioned questions: Silliman’s “Women of Color and Their Fight for Reproductive Justice” , The Pill, and/or La Operación.

1. How do intersecting power inequalities such as racism, sexism, AND classism impact women’s lives?
2. How do women “talk back”/respond to these power inequalities by resisting and trying to make change?

• This assignment has 2 parts – A Creative Element and a Written Element
• You must address both parts of the prompt (i.e. intersecting structures of power impacting women’s lives through racism, sexism, and classism AND women responding to these intersecting power inequalities) in both element

Each student will make an original creative response to reproductive injustice in Puerto Rico and/or the US.

All students will post their creative responses to the discussion board under that forum. Follow these steps:

1. Your subject line should be your title (e.g. Sterilization, Rap).
2. Provide a 250-275 word response to the prompt and upload your Creative Response Item as an attachment. After you post, check and make sure that you can open any attachments.
